Russ Austin Lead Pastor
Pastor Russ is originally from Lewisporte, NL but fell in love with the "Big Land" while serving at Bethel as Youth and Children's Pastor from 2015-2018. In 2021 he returned, serving as Outreach and Family Pastor and was voted in as Lead Pastor in 2023.
He's passionate about people from all walks of life and is convinced that the local church is the hope of the world! He's married to Jennifer and has two children, Reuben and Samuel.
Anna Dearing Associate Pastor
Pastor Anna and her husband Kevin moved to Labrador in 2019 and to North West
River in June 2025.
Her experience as a global worker in the country of Tanzania for 8 years prepared her for life and work in the unique context of the Big Land with the beautiful people that call it home.
Her passion is to disciple and train local people to serve in local churches and communities. This is part of her role that began in February
2026.
Iris Hynes - Administrative Assistant
Iris has been a part of the church team since 1990. She is usually the first voice you hear on the phone and the one who keeps office life interesting and the church functioning.
Kevin Dearing-Utility/ Maintenance
Kevin is from North West River where he and his wife, Anna, have been living since June 2025.
Kevin has been enjoying his job with Bethel since December 2025. He can be found anywhere throughout the church, doing a variety of jobs.
He is never idle and enjoys keeping the premises clean, organized and well-maintained.
